Yoake Bottle Online Beading Class

Previously a live Zoom class, but now available as an online beading workshop!

Create a self-supporting beaded bottle with a separate lid inspired by beautiful perfume bottles I discovered in a museum on my travels in Czech Republic.

This project uses peyote stitch to construct a rounded rectangle-shaped structure with a clever decreasing technique to finish the top and create the bottle’s neck. We will complete the ornament with a removable lid and add decoration with a bezelled cabochon. I will even show you how to customise your own clear glass cabochons using nail varnish or acrylic paint!

You will have options when it comes to the embellishment. I have used an 18mm cabochon for the bronze sample shown here. I created this using a clear glass cabochon painted with nail varnish. You could use any 18mm cabochon, or even a 14mm or 16mm cabochon.

The embellishment also makes a pretty pendant and the pattern includes instructions for creating a miniature version of the bottle too.

How does an online beading class work?

Upon booking you’ll be sent your PDF pattern which includes links to videos throughout it to help you work through the project. The number of videos varies depending on the project but all of the trickiest parts will be covered with a demo.

Each project also includes a welcome PDF. This includes hints and tips for getting the most from my online beading classes. There is an introductory YouTube video for each project, which I recommend you watch (you’ll need to be online for this). This video is also your virtual classroom – with the chat on the video being the place to ask questions and share ideas.

As part of your Online Beading Class package, you get access to one of my UFO-Busting Zoom sessions for free! You can come along to any one of these UFO sessions, it doesn’t have to be in the month you purchased the class.

What’s more, I’ll also send you emails throughout the month to see how you’re doing and to help you keep on track with your project. Class Materials

Materials not included. You will be sent a full requirements list upon booking along with the pattern. You will need:

• Size 8, 11 and 15 Miyuki seed beads
• 1 x 18mm or 16mm glass cabochon
• 3mm pearls or round glass beads
• Nail varnish (optional, if you wish to decorate your own clear glass cabochon)
