Description
A regal miniature beaded crown is stitched using circular peyote stitch and set off with dramatic crystals.
This tutorial shows you how to create tiny crowns in different sizes using Delica beads to create a stunning necklace, bracelet and earrings.
This design was inspired by a stately crest captured in wrought iron, discovered whilst exploring Drumlanrig castle; the Dumfriesshire seat of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry. The family crest features a winged heart and crown, and dates back to Sir James Douglas in the 14th century. Douglas was a supporter of Robert the Bruce; upon his death he was instructed to carry the king’s heart to the Holy lands but died on the battlefield.
The tutorial includes instructions for making up matching earrings and a bracelet as a bonus project.

- 28mm ‘Truly in love’ 6264 Swarovski Elements heart pendant
- Size 11 Miyuki Delica beads
- Size 15 Miyuki seed beads
- 2mm Czech
- 12x8mm 5040 Swarovski Elements briolettes or similar
- 1mm waxed cotton cord
