Description

These blingy beaded bangles have a wonderfully solid finish and are addictive to make – using just a few materials from your stash.

The use of an elastic core, combined with the natural stretch from using monofilament in Right Angle Weave, makes these bangles easy to slide on and off your wrist.

I recommend using monofilament thread rather than Fireline or regular thread for the bangle, as it helps give the finished bangles stretch. Monofilament can be fiddly if you are not used to working with it, particularly the finishing off when the beads are getting quite full of thread, but it is worth persevering as it gives an excellent sturdy finish. I find Toho beads are best for this project due to their hole size.

If you’re not a fan of bangles, then fear not, as this pattern includes an easy adaptation for a bracelet with a clasp. Previously published in the Beadworkers Guild Journal.

Materials required:

  • 8mm round glass beads
  • Size 11 Toho beads
  • 4mm bicones/Xilions
  • Elastic or beading wire
  • Crimp tube
  • Findings
  • Monofilament thread eg Supplemax
  • Beading needles and scissors

Most suitable for intermediate beaders upwards.  The tutorial includes step by step computer drawn diagrams, photos where extra explanation is needed and easy to follow instructions.
