Holiday Beading With Kids: Geckos

If you’re someone with a small beader-in-training in your life, then I have just the summer holiday antidote for you today! This brand new video is just for you!

These beaded geckos and lizards use just a few beads and some elastic and are excellent for adding to backpacks and school book bags! So if you’re looking for a great kid-friendly craft to do together, this is it!

My daughter and her friends are OBSESSED with these beaded geckos, so I just had to turn it into a video. Grab your pony beads and keep those little hands busy this school break!

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 🦎 120cm of fabric-covered elastic
  • Plastic pony beads. For the design shown I used:
  • 🦎36 x green (main colour)
  • 🦎24 x yellow (tummy/feet)
  • 🦎2 x dark brown (eyes)
  • 🦎Carabiner/keychain -optional
  • 🦎Scissors 🦎Glue (optional)

Have fun experimenting with colours and patterns! You can use as many colours as you wish. Why not give your lizard stripes?

(Well, two actually!) They’re not bead-related, but it’s been fun to explore another area of creativity!
