I’m delighted to have been selected to teach two classes at 2023’s Great British Bead Show in Daventry, hosted by the Beadworkers Guild.
Join me for one or both of the classes below – if you would like to book you can do this via the Beadworkers Guild website – you’ll need to download a booking form. Or call the BWG office for a booking form on 07837 649712. Full details about the show can be found here.
Classes run 10am – 4pm with a one-hour break for lunch. The cost is £79 each which includes morning and afternoon refreshments and a hot or cold three-course lunch.
Friday 5th May – Wings of Whimsy
Create a statement brooch or pendant with this steampunk-inspired design. Whether adorning a coat or top hat at a Victorian ball, or fluttering around your neck as a colourful summer accessory – your colour choices for this project will be sure to make it stand out!
Choose metallic base metal colours or go wild with rainbow opaque beads – the choice is yours! The project used single needle right angle weave to bezel stones and create delightful circular components reminiscent of cogs, which have so many uses beyond this project! Bring it all together with added embellishment and metal components. The class will include ideas and inspiration for other uses for the individual components.
Suitable for intermediate-advanced beaders. Some experience of right angle weave would be advantageous.
The design uses TierraCast Angel Wing Charms, which I will have available to purchase on the website from January as well as at the event.
Class code 05/14
Saturday 6th May – Ducks & Bubbles
Jazz up a plain tape measure with this fun bath time ducky-themed design. This project was inspired by a friend with a passion for bath ducks and makes for a unique addition to your beading tool kit.
Follow the peyote chart to bead around the outside of the tape measure and add bubbles to the tab. This playful design offers the opportunity to experiment with adding texture with size 8s and Miyuki drop beads. The class also includes the pattern for a matching scissor charm.
Suitable for intermediate beaders – some experience with flat/circular peyote and following bead/word charts would be advantageous.
Material packs (not including beads) will be available to purchase from January.
