Beadalong – The Swedish Bead Event
I’m delighted to be teaching two projects at this year’s virtual Beadalong: Learn to Bezel with Peyote Stitch and Learn to Bezel with Right Angle Weave. These classes are perfect for beginner beaders or anyone wishing to expand their skills and learn how to capture stones with beads.
Taught in English. All booking is via the Beadalong website. There are multiple time options for this class. HURRY! Booking closes 1st September!
Price: 170 SEK (£15) plus event fee (130 SEK). Workshops are only open to Beadalong participants. There are lots of events and classes happening over the whole weekend and your event fee gives you access to all of these. For more details visit the Beadalong website.
Have you always wanted to learn how to capture rivolis and other stones using beads so that you can use them in your beading designs? I’ll show you how to use peyote stitch to bezel around rivolis using both peyote stitch and right angle weave (RAW). We’ll create a bezel for a 14mm rivoli using peyote stitch and then move onto capturing a larger 18mm rivoli with RAW.
Together we’ll discuss how you can use the same techniques to bezel around larger or different shaped stones and easy ways to embellish your work for maximum effect! I’ll be offering plenty of design tips and sharing my beading knowledge with you along the way.
Suitable for beginner beaders upwards. No previous experience necessary.
The class will be taught using Zoom online meeting software. This will allow you to see me and your fellow classmates (you will have the ability to mute or turn off your camera at any point if you wish). We can also share photos as we work.
You will need a computer/laptop, smartphone or tablet with camera and audio capabilities. You will need to download the free Zoom software or app to your computer, phone or tablet in advance of the meeting. Full details of how to join the online meeting will be sent to you upon booking. The app/software is free and you do not need to create an account to attend the class.
Materials not included. You will be sent a full requirements list upon booking along with the instructions. You will need:
Peyote class:
- 14mm round rivoli
- Size 11 and 15 seed beads
- Beading needle and thread
I recommend my Starburst Pendant kit for this project as it has all the necessary components.
RAW class:
- 18mm round rivoli
- Size 11 Miyuki Delicas
- Beading needle and thread
If you are ordering beads from an online bead store for this project be aware that First Class is taking up to a week in some instances to arrive. I’d recommend opting for Special Delivery where available.
