The perfect workshop project for book lovers and Jane Austen fans looking to try their hand at bead embroidery. This unique beading project comes with a kit that includes an exclusive cabochon featuring a copy of a poem penned in Jane’s own hand! Together we’ll stitch seed beads and pearls around it for a stunning pendant with a hint of Regency flair. You may not get the whole pendant completed in the class time, but I will provide plenty of demonstrations to ensure you are confident with finishing the project in your own time.

Suitable for complete beginners or beaders with a little beading experience.

This design was created in partnership with Hampshire Cultural Trust, using items owned by Jane Austen from their collection. You can read more about the original project here.

Online workshop requirements

The class will be taught using Zoom online meeting software. This will allow you to see me and your fellow classmates (you will have the ability to mute or turn off your camera at any point if you wish). We can also share photos as we work.

You will need a computer/laptop, smartphone or tablet with camera and audio capabilities. You will need to download the free Zoom software or app to your computer, phone or tablet in advance of the meeting. Full details of how to join the online meeting will be sent to you upon booking. The app/software is free and you do not need to create an account to attend the class.

Workshop Materials

Materials are included. You will be sent a full kit upon booking (please note shipping costs apply). Please be aware that there are still delays on shipping at this time particularly in the US so factor this time in when booking this class. I cannot be held responsible for kits that do not arrive in time due to delays with the mail.

Class sizes are kept small so you can be guaranteed plenty of help and support. The studio is a lovely, bright room with plenty of natural light during the day and great illumination in the evening.

About the class

Class sizes are kept small so you can be guaranteed plenty of help and support. I will have two cameras in use during the class so you will be able to see my demonstrations up close as well as my face! There is a messaging function in addition to the meeting audio as well so plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss the project.

Unfortunately due to the nature of the session and the fact you will be sent the full instructions upon booking refunds cannot be given if you are unable to make one or both of the sessions. If you cannot make one/both of the sessions I will try to swap you to another date for the same project if available but this cannot be guaranteed. I am always available if you have any questions on the project after the workshop.

If you have any questions please contact me. I’m looking forward to seeing you!
