Friday 5th – Sunday 7th June 2020
Highfield Park, Hampshire
Join me for a weekend of beading in a beautiful location. You’ll be totally spoilt with delicious food, luxurious accommodation and expert tuition.
Over the weekend you will be able to recreate my sparkling new design Khepri necklace. Embrace the spirit of Ancient Egypt with this dramatic pendant that uses a combination of stitches, including Right Angle Weave and incorporates Czech glass beads and sparkling Swarovski crystals.
The finished piece is hung on a Chenille beaded rope – instructions for this are included but you can choose to hang it on a a cord or chain if you prefer!
This project was inspired by the ancient Gods of Egypt and represents creative cycles. Khepri was God of the rising run and was depicted often as a scarab holding aloft the morning sun. He was seen as subordinate to the greater sun god Ra. The Eye of Ra was a goddess and was an extension of Ra’s power – she was his consort.
Suitable for intermediate-advanced beaders. A list of material requirements will be sent to you in advance.
Cost: £395 all inclusive – this includes accommodation, meals and tuition.Book here
This class is offered as part of the Great Escapes programme. Set in an elegant house built in the style of Queen Anne, the hotel is set in 35 acres of beautiful parkland in the Hampshire village of Heckfield. The Great Escapes weekends are always enormous fun. There will be delicious meals prepared for us (believe me, you won’t go hungry!) and plenty of time to work on your project of choice. I will bring plenty of my kits and patterns too so there is the chance to shop or even dip into a different project if you fancy!
Highfield Park is ideally situated; easily accessible by rail or from the M3, M4 and M25 motorways. It’s less than an hour’s drive from Heathrow Airport.
Come and join us for a weekend of beading, laughter and good company.
