Create a vintage-style bunting necklace using easy beadweaving techniques!

Using brick stitch and Miyuki Delica beads you’ll learn how to stitch tiny beaded flags and join them together for a dainty lightweight necklace. The colour combinations are endless! Previously published in Bead & Jewellery magazine.

This project is suitable for beginner beaders. If you need further help getting started or want to explore brick stitch more you’ll find my Beginners’ Guide to Brick Stitch helpful.

Materials required:

  • Size 11 Miyuki Delica beads in 4 colours (you could also use size 10)
  • Jump rings
  • Chain and findings
  • Toning beading thread
  • Beading needle and scissors

This pattern is most suitable for beginner beaders upwards. It is a good introduction to decreasing with brick stitch. The tutorial includes computer-drawn diagrams, close-up photos where extra explanation is needed and easy to follow instructions.
