Description

A regal crown is stitched using circular peyote stitch and set off with dramatic crystals.

Create crowns in different sizes to create a stunning necklace, bracelet and earrings.

This design was inspired by a dramatic crest captured in wrought iron, discovered whilst exploring Drumlanrig castle; the Dumfriesshire seat of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry. The family crest features a winged heart and crown, and dates back to Sir James Douglas in the 14th century.

Douglas was a supporter of Robert the Bruce; upon his death he was instructed to carry the king’s heart to the Holy lands but died on the battlefield.

Includes instructions for making up matching earrings and a bracelet as a bonus project.
