Saturday 23rd November
Pinkhot Studio, Hayling Island, Hampshire
Create your own beautiful Mala Beads to wear and use in your meditation practice. The history of these traditional prayer beads dates back centuries and they have roots in many religions. Mala beads are a wonderful prop for use in meditation and they look beautiful too when worn; in fact ‘mala’ is sanskrit for garland.
In this workshop you will be able to choose from a beautiful selection of semi-precious gemstones, as well as glass or wood beads, tassels and charms, selecting the beads that resonate with you. Tutor Chloe will guide you through the stringing and knotting process to help you turn your selection into a beautiful necklace.
At the end of the class you can give your new beads a whirl with a short guided meditation, generously led by the lovely Cate Knott Carpenter, a yoga and mediation teacher based on Hayling Island.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, including complete beginners.
Price includes all materials and use of tools, and you get to take home your mala beads and a high quality printed instruction booklet.
Class sizes are kept small so you can be guaranteed plenty of help and support. The studio is a lovely, bright room with plenty of natural light during the day and great illumination in the evening.
10am-3pm Materials included. Vegan refreshments including various teas, coffees, soft drinks, biscuits and snacks provided but please bring a packed lunch.
