How to do Brick Stitch: If you’ve been inspired by beautiful beadweaving projects using brick stitch, but are unsure where to start then fear not! This tutorial is a step-by-step guide to this popular stitch.

Brick stitch can be used for many of the same purposes as peyote, however it can also be more easily shaped. It is ideal for creating flat pieces of work, charms and flowers. This stitch is often the basis for more complicated projects so it is a good stitch to conquer early on!

Materials required:

  • Japanese seed beads (eg Toho or Miyuki) or Cylinder beads (eg Miyuki Delicas)
  • Beading thread (eg SoNO, OneG, KO, Miyuki, or Superlon)
  • Beading needles
  • Embroidery scissors

Most suitable for beginner beaders. Tutorial includes step by step diagrams, close-up photos where extra explanation is needed and easy to follow instructions.

Please note that only techniques are covered in this tutorial, no projects are included. Pieces shown in the photos are for inspiration purposes only.
