My first beading workshop at Pinkhot HQ in Hampshire was a lot of fun and now I can’t wait for the next!
This Saturday I was delighted to be joined by two lovely ladies, Helen and Maureen, for my very first workshop at Pinkhot HQ. If you don’t know, I moved to Hayling Island in Hampshire in autumn last year and our little house came with the perfect beading room.
I have been desperate to open my doors to students and begin teaching from my home studio and Saturday’s class was everything I’d dreamed! The Stegosaurus Drop (or Steggie as it’s affectionately known) was the project for the day and the three of us happily whiled away the hours stitching.
The weather was rubbish and it rained all day, but it meant we were accompanied by the sound of the rain on the roof and windows of the bead room which is situated in my conservatory. The light in there is fantastic even on a grey day – and we all agreed that there is nothing better than sitting inside listening to the rain when you are accompanied with some beads and a cup of tea!
At the end of the class Helen and Maureen both went home with completed pendants – plus an almost completed beaded rope (we won’t mention the scissors incident) as well as the beginnings of a second pendant for Helen. I love the colours both of them chose and wanted to steal Helen’s pink one for myself!
I can’t wait for my next class in the studio – Tiaras and Fascinators is on Sunday June 19th – and there are just two spaces left! I’m planning more dates for later in the year. These classes will always be small in numbers meaning you can be sure of individualised attention and a relaxing day.
