Summer is definitely on its way and right now the shops are full of bright tropical colours and prints. These are some of my favourite colours to work with so when Making Jewellery magazine asked me to create something for their Tropical Splash issue, I jumped at the chance!
Imagine my delight when I discovered that my Aloha Petals design had made the cover! Check out all that vibrant teal and fuchsia! Incorporating Starman Petal beads, Triangle beads and Quadratiles, these fun flower shaped elements are just so versatile.
The project shows you how to make a bracelet, ring and even a hair comb, perfect for summer parties. I added vintage twist too with the comb, just to show you how easy it is to change the look of the design is; it works well in any colour scheme!
I love how dramatic the Aloha Petals look blown up so big on the cover and can’t wait to see the spread in the magazine. Issue 81 of Making Jewellery goes on sale May 28th, and is available through WH Smiths and from the Making Jewellery website. Please note: There is an error in the supplies list printed in the magazine. It should read as:
5 x 10x13mm Czech glass petal beads
5 x CzechMate 2-hole Triangle beads
5 x Quadratiles
