I loved creating these earrings for BeadingSchool – the sparkly collection of beads available at BeadingSchool made designing easy!
My inspiration
I came up with the egg design using the beautiful Czech glass pearl drops. They made adorable eggs (the chocolate variety) but I wasn’t sure initially what to do with them…
I had fun playing with the design and I think they make beautiful earrings – something special to wear this spring time!
Chocolate eggs are traditionally given at Easter here in the UK as well as elsewhere around the world. The name of the project, Eostre, is a nod to the Germanic goddess of dawn. (Pronounced Ee-st-rer) She is celebrated during the Spring Equinox – and is thought to have given the Christian celebration of Easter its name.
Eostre is also associated with fertility, along with eggs – another popular symbol of spring, birth and fertility.
The pattern and materials
I had lots of fun putting together colourful spring-inspired colourways for the jewel bundles.
If you don’t have the calendar, I have good news; you can get the tutorial separately, it’s now live over on the Beadingschool by Erika Sándor website.
You’ll also find bundles with all the beads and supplies needed to make my egg-citing earrings in three sparkling colourways here:
I can’t wait to see your Eostre earrings – make sure you share your photos of your makes with us over in my Facebook group.
