#MadeItMarch – Wear your jewellery challenge!

I have a habit of wearing the same 10 or so earrings or necklaces on rotation, but as you can imgaine I have an absolute hoard of beaded creations that I’ve made over the past 16 or so years of beading. I wanted to mix things up – and when I mentioned it to my bead group, they wanted to get involved too!

I’ve been sharing a snap every day in my Facebook group PINKHOT BEAD ROOM and thought I’d give you the full round-up from the month! Lots of beaders have been getting involved and it’s been so fun to see what others have been wearing! There’s been jewellery big and small, complex and simple, full of bling and understated!

For me personally, it’s been so fun to dig into my jewellery box and my samples box and rediscover some beaded treasures.

A surprising bonus from the challenge is that I found myself picking outfits to match my jewellery. It encouraged me to pull out those items I might not wear as often, be bolder or simply just choose my outfit more carefully. I’ve had fun picking out and putting together outfits, and it helped me feel better!

Of course, there were days where I felt a bit rubbish or not very fancy, but just adding a bit of bling with maybe a pair of earrings really boosted my mood, which surprised me. And I’ve also had lots of compliments from school mums, family and even random strangers, which is always a lovely confidence boost!

I hope this challenge inspires you to wear your bling and shows that you that you don’t need to save your beautiful beadwork for a special occasion. Your jewels DESERVE to be worn!

So whether it’s for a party, the school run, a trip to the supermarket – or even just staying at home, please – bring out your bling! Wear it for YOU and just BECAUSE!
