I’m so excited to share another free beading pattern with you through Jill Wiseman Designs! Introducing my Rising Sun Earrings! A fast and fun make using Delica beads and Quick Links.
I had a lot of fun designing and beading this one – it came to me during a yoga class one day! Sometimes I have my best ideas during yoga, when my mind is allowed to wander. These came to me in the middle of a Yin yoga session and I had to force myself to relax through the rest of the class, as I was just so excited to get back to my bead mat and see if the idea worked! And it did!
The design took a little playing when it came to the bead counts to ensure the perfect fit and tension – but after the initial concept, it came together really quickly, and I’m so pleased with the finished look.
This fun project uses easy beading techniques to bezel an 8mm Preciosa chaton, which we’ll then capture inside a metal Beadalon Quick Links ring using Delicas and seed beads.
You don’t need many Delicas for the project, so there’s scope for experimenting with colours. I created a vibrant orange and yellow sun pair, and then a ‘blurples’ – Jill’s favourite colour of course! I’d like to try and rainbow version next and maybe a turquoise and pink one!
I created earrings, but these components have SO many uses, from pendants to key charms – or even a bracelet! I imagine linking several with beaded loops or jump ring for an unusual bracelet.
